-
Summer Clothes
Shirts, covers, summer dresses. Quick-dry with UV protection is recommended.
-
Waterproof Jacket
A waterproof or windproof jacket is essential to keep out the elements.
-
Hoodies & Fleeces
Warm loose clothing for the evening and the colder days, depending on the season.
-
Swimsuits
Swimming trunks, bikinis and the rest.
After all, you’re on an ocean getaway. -
Sun Lotion & After-sun
Summer holiday 101. The two most important rules; sun-protection and hydration.
-
Credit & Travel cards
Travel money cards are great, and plenty of cash in the local currency.
-
Hats & Sun Caps
Sun protection starts from the top. Lightweight, quick-dry caps and straw hats are a top hint.
-
Waterproof Phone Case
Most phones are waterproof to a shallow depth, but salt water spray and submerging are expensive mistakes.
-
Dry-Bags
A 10 to 20-litre dry bag, big enough to pack all your essentials for a swim or dingy ride ashore.
-
Soft Holdall / Suitcase
Once unpacked, these can be squashed down and stored away easily. Large suitcases take up a lot of space and aren't easily stored.
-
Sailing Gloves
Sailing gloves if you're a keen sailor and plan on doing a lot of activity on deck. Added protection for operating the winches when docking and avoiding rope burn.
-
Sandals & Beach Shoes
Don’t forget your lip flops, sandals, jandals or thongs… whatever you call them… for causal trips ashore.
-
Trainers & Hiking Shoes
Trainers or hiking shoes for vehicle rentals and adventuring. You’re exploring and visiting wild, uninhabited islands after all.
-
Deck Shoes
It’s a personal preference and not every sailor’s choice, but non-marking deck shoes or sports trainers are worth considering.
-
Evening Wear
Your best selection of evening, for obvious reasons. Lightweight, linens, loose-fitting clothing is our recommendation.
-
Beach Towels
For most charters, beach towels are not included - unless requested. Hand and bath towels will already be onboard.
-
Travel Documents
Don’t forget your travel documents, and passports and make sure you have the proper visas. It's good to have photocopies of all these in case something gets lost.
-
Written Travel Plans
Write down your travel plans, directions and addresses, There’s nothing worse than your phone battery dying, or losing your electronic travel plans. Keep a written back-up.
-
First Aid Kit
It's always good to have a personal first-aid kit. There's ALWAYS one onboard, but you can never be too careful.
-
Medication
Pre-emptive and any prescription medication (bring evidence), particularly seasickness remedies if you think you need them. Non-drowsy is worth considering. We can recommend Stugeron, behind-the-ear patches, anti-nausea wristbands, and anything with ginger, such as ginger tea and sucking sweets. Staying hydrated is key.
-
Playing Cards & Games
A pack of playing cards and other small, fun games, to keep you entertained on those long, relaxing days. Dobble and Monopoly Deal are a Pristine Yachting favourite!
-
Mosquito Repellant
Mosquito repellent is a must, and they are present everywhere. Save yourself the frustration of being bitten, and lather up.
-
Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Nearly all yachts have built-in sound systems, but there are parts of the yachts – usually sunbathing locations, where the sound can struggle to reach.
-
Flags From Home
Remember your country, favourite team and local flags! Ask your Captain to hoist them for you, and sail with pride.
-
Drones
If you have a drone, take it. The footage you will capture can't be beaten, but check the local flying regulations and laws before departure, and on-site take off.
-
GoPro's & Cameras
GoPros, cameras and underwater equipment are a surefire way to record the best and most exciting parts of your adventure.
-
Snorkelling Gear
Snorkels, fins and masks are a must-have onboard. Usually, they are included in the price, but better to check first and make sure. If the operator provides them, be sure to give them your sizes ahead of time!
